Genomförda projekt 1

1. Bränslesystem

Since I have had some problem with fungus in the diesel tank, blocking the inlet to the Racor supply diesel filter (there is one more 20 micron diesel filter, located on the actual engine) I decided to install an electrical diesel pump (Holley 110 GPH Blue diesel Pump 12-802-1) between the diesel tank and the Racor supply diesel filter. My intention is that the diesel pump will continously push the diesel through the Racor supply filter, eliminating the risk of being blocket by the fungus, the fungus is a "brownish tooth paste like" product, created in the vegetabilic oil (RME) added to "enviromental friendly" diesel.

This Holley diesel pump will create a circulation of diesel in parallell to the return system that all injection engines already have, and therefore cleaning tha tank and at the same time making sure the filters and tubes are not blocket because of the fungus.

So, these are the items connected in series in my diesel system:
The diesel Tank - the Holley Electric diesel Pump - the Racor Supply Filter (20 Micron) - The engine mechanical feeder diesel pump - The engine filter (20 Micron) - from here he diesel is routed either to the Engine High Pressure Pump or back to the diesel Tank (the over capacity diesel is routed back).

Another big benefit with this new Diesel Pump is that I will never have any problem bleeding the system whenever I have opened the system or just run out of diesel.

A risk is of course that the engine will stall due to a diesel pump malfunction (this is now elliminated by the installation of a check valve a cross the diesel pump).

I have now installet three check valves and one shut-off valve in the by-pass line, se drawing.

2. Peke

So I got my hands on a used but never installed Oskarshamns Marina bowspring. It is constructed of 38 mm dia stainless steel frame with a built in pullpit. It has an built in anchor roller and a ladder. I will extend my forestay with a turnbuckle and move it forward onto the bowspring. This will have two additional effects, she will become less sensitive for turning up to the wind whit increasing airspeeds and the sail will also be lifted higher up over the stanchion lanyard.

 

 

3. Extra vattentank (75 l) 2013

Extra Water tank

Two reasons made us build an extra water tank to be placed under the portside sofa in the main cabin: To compensate the weight of a charged fuel tank and to extend the time at sea with fresh water. When the possibility to take a hot shower was introduced we realized that it was time for this project.

A perfect dimension in the limited space would be a 300 mm tube with a length that gives 75 litre.

Partly insulated before installation. New fresh water hoses in the bilge ready to be connected.

A 3-way valve in the bilge connects the the original tank with the new extra tank.

 

4. Nya dynor och klädsel 2009

So finaly I have opened up the big wallet and ordered new madrasses for the complete boat. The sleaping madrasses will be of a kind that have metal springs inside pockets, for increased life and comfort.
They are 15 cm thick.

This is a cut-away picture of the sleeping madrass.

On the surfaces having contact with the bottom and the wall will have a kind of mesh that will ease the evacuation of moist.

The fabric we have choosen is called Trevira CS and the pattern is called TAKT with the color 34

5. Ny teak i sittbrunn

Yet another grey day in februari 2009

I have now ordered a set of prefabricated teak boards. Ingemar Martinsson in Gothenborg,

He is really friendly and seems to be one of the "old gofs" still working in the business.

I have ordered the floor panels, 4 of, one large in front of the pedestal and three smaller rear of the same, where two will be isntalled on the sides of the floor, where you put your feets when heeling. Additionally I have ordered two panels on the upper sides, where the two genoa winches are mounted. Furthermore two set of panels, one on each side of the companionway, where the small winches are installed, just below the windscreen.

6. Ny vindruta 2004

Hi all. Now has the new cockpit window arrived. It is all as I hoped for, professionally built and give a real sturdy impression. Check out theis website ö metall

Here are some pictures of the beauty.

The window fitted like a glove, really nice job of the guys at Ö-Metall. Only thing that I am not so happy about is the wellding on the openeing window, it doesnt look so good. They guaranteed me that the strenght is not affected. I hope soo..
